High Academic Performance

Conroe ISD stands out as a premier district in Texas by offering an array of academic, athletic and fine arts courses that students can enroll in. Conroe’s students consistently outscore both national and state averages on SAT/ACT exams.

CISD teachers and administrators value small-town values while equipping their students to thrive in an ever-more global community. TXSmartSchools awarded CISD five stars for upholding high standards while spending efficiently.

Twenty-two CISD schools earned TEA STAAR component scaled scores of 90 or higher in 2018, with 15 receiving an Academic Achievement Distinctions Designation. Students across the District received national and state accolades in academics, agriculture, health science, career and technology, Navy Junior ROTC program as well as high SAT/ACT test scores. Homes located within Venetian Pines are zoned to competitive schools including Ann Snyder Elementary, Cryar Intermediate School Peet Junior High as well as Conroe High School.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Conroe ISD SSO students participate in an array of extra-curricular activities. These include academic competitions like Regional DI completion, Conroe High’s Fierce Diamonds step performance team and various band and choral performances.

CISD also provides dual credit courses, where high school students can enroll in college classes for credit while still in high school – giving them an early start toward their degrees and potentially helping reduce any student loan debt they might accrue after graduating from college.

Niche, which provides millions of parents with school and district information nationwide, ranks Conroe ISD highly. Niche gives Conroe an A rating in terms of teacher quality, health and safety, diversity, extra-curricular activities and extramural participation. With 69,000 students across 67 campuses CISD is among Montgomery County’s largest districts as well as one of its nine-largest statewide. Furthermore, Conroe does not discriminate on grounds such as race, color, national origin, sex, religion age or disability when providing educational programs or employment issues.

The CISD Education Foundation

With a mission of “enriching, strengthening and enhancing”, the Foundation is dedicated to raising money for educational projects which cannot be funded via traditional tax-based means. Their Board of Directors includes community members representing a cross section of district residents; additionally they are registered as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

With grant funding, teachers in CISD can receive essential tools and support to make their classrooms more interactive and engaging, providing high quality instruction that equips their students for the future.

CISD boasts 65 public schools that collectively enroll 67,761 students. Their overall testing ranking of 10/10 places them among the top 10% of Texas school districts. Conroe, Shenandoah, Spring and Caney Creek all fall within its boundaries, with 61% White students making up 29% Hispanic, 4% Black and 2% Two or more races making up its population; its student/teacher ratio stands at 16:1. Niche ranks over 100,000 schools and districts based on statistics as well as feedback from students and parents alike – over which their opinions can influence.

CISD teachers receive training through staff development funds from both state and federal sources in order to gain the tools they need for efficient classroom management and interactive lessons for their students. Furthermore, they gain knowledge about models such as Curriculum and Instruction Model, Cross-Curricular Integration and STAAR Initiative.

The district provides flexible parent and family engagement opportunities tailored to student needs in a language parents can understand through various means including face-to-face meetings, online streaming services, streaming content to devices within homes or even opting out of books containing inappropriate references such as “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” which contains homosexuality and beastiality references.
